Mohill 2–10 St. Mary's Kiltoghert 0–14 Leitrim SFC Final

Mohill got revenge for last year's Leitrim county final defeat, as Ronan Kennedy and Keith Beirne hit a late point apiece to defeat holders St Mary's an exciting and hard-fought 2023 decider in Carrick-on-Shannon.

Mohill drew first blood when Shane Quinn whipped over a second-minute point but St Mary's got on level terms within the space of another minute, when Paul Keaney put over a free. Four minutes later, St Mary's took the lead for the first time in the game when Jack Casey converted a '45.

After that it was a nip and tuck for the remainder of the first half, with Beirne levelling for Mohill after Keaney pointed three St Mary's frees to edge his his in front. Mohill's Jordan Reynolds then flicked a Beirne ball into the St Mary's net from close range to level things up by the 23-minute mark.

Beirne edged Mohill ahead again when he split the St. Mary's uprights but St Mary's finished the opening half stronger, with points from Gavin Reynolds (leveller), Nicholas McWeeney and Ben Guckian to claim a 0-08 to 1-03 interval advantage.

After the restart, Paul Keaney extended St Mary's lead from a 32nd-minute placed ball. Mohill stayed in the hunt over the next 13 minutes with points from Alan Armstrong and Beirne again (free).

Keaney whipped over another St Mary's free at the end of the third quarter but Mohill hit back with a well-executed Kennedy goal and a Beirne free conversion to claim a two point's lead.

However, St Mary's levelled by the 56th-minute mark with points from James McGrail, Dáire Farrell and Keaney.

It was high drama from there to the finish, with Kennedy for Mohill and Casey for St Mary's trading points at opposite ends to level matters for a fifth time in the battle. Kennedy and Beirne then stepped up to get retribution for last year's Leitrim decider, and secure the 2023 championship for Mohill.
