Roscommon have ended their search for a football manager, with Davy Burke ratified as the new man in the hotseat on a three-year term.

The former Wicklow manager succeeds Anthony Cunningham. Joining him in his backroom team will be former Donegal All-Ireland winner Mark McHugh.

Kildare native Burke, who led the Lilywhites to Under-20 All-Ireland glory in 2018, was appointed at a county board meeting tonight.

He was the youngest-ever inter-county manager when he took over as Wicklow manager three years ago, stepping down last year after two seasons in charge having maintained their Division 3 status in 2021.

Most recently Burke has managed Sarsfields in his native county, overseeing a county success three years ago.

Burke is also currently the manager of the Maynooth University Sigerson football team.
