Con O'Callaghan will not be part of the Dublin panel for this afternoon's All-Ireland semi-final against Kerry at Croke Park.

The news was confirmed by Dublin GAA on twitter, after they released an image showing the match-day squad of 26, with the Cuala player absent.

According to GAA rule 2.5 (ii) (a): "In Inter-County Senior Games, the list of players shall be numbered from 1 to not more than 26

Further, according to GAA rule 2.5 (ii) (b): "All players shall be from the list submitted to the referee prior to the game."

The starting XV was released yesterday but the lack of a full squad list had led to much speculation on social media about whether the dangerous forward could still play a part for Dessie Farrell's side.

The other player being mentioned as a major loss for the Dubs in the build up was James McCarthy, but the Ballymun man - and captain - is named amongst the substitutes.

The team released shows no changes from the one which defeated Cork in the quarter-final two weeks ago.
