A dramatic finale saw Mohill claim the Leitrim football title with the last kick of the game in their replay against Glencar/Manorhamilton.

The latter were leading by two points and on course for victory, but Mohill full-forward Ronan Kennedy struck for a goal in injury that brings the Fenagh Cup back to the club for the first time since 2006.

After the excitement of last week's drawn game hopes were high that the replay would provide another memorable occasion. However, Saturday evening’s encounter at Páirc Seán Mac Diarmada proved to be a cagey affair with both teams tightening up in areas where they may have felt they were vulnerable six days earlier.

The first half proved to be a tactical battle with little to separate the sides but it was Glencar/Manorhamilton who would have been the happier of the sides as they enjoyed a slender 0-3 to 0-2 at the break.

There were some fine scores during the opening half, particularly from Glencar/Manorhamilton’s Dominic Kelly and Mohill’s Keith Beirne but by and large the opening 35 minutes saw scoring chances at a premium.

Both sides started the second  half brightly and two points apiece suggested the second half may be a more free flowing affair. However, a further 20 minutes passed before there was any addition to the scoreline with both defences dominating. Michael McGuinness and man of the match Ronan Gallagher starred for Mohill while Pat Gilmartin and Paddy Maguire were arguably Glencar/Manorhamilton’s standout performers.
Adrian Croal looked as though  he had opened up a two point lead for Glencar/Manorhamilton but they were to be denied right at the death.
