Antrim and Longford claimed home wins in Division 4 of the Allianz Football League, while Carlow and Wicklow, and Offaly and Leitrim shared the spoils.

In Cargin, Antrim were 1-12 to 1-08 winners over London, despite going a man in arrears

Alan O’Hara (1-01) bagged a goal after 45 seconds for London, but Antrim recovered well, with Conor McGourty (1-05) netting a penalty.

The St Galls clubman was impressive throughout, in a game which saw Antrim reduced to 14 men when Conor Burke needlessly kicked out at London forward Paraic McGoldrick.

London midfielders Cathal Óg Greene and Mark Gottsche both picked up black cards, as Antrim pulled away for victory.

Longford claimed a 1-12 to 1-10 home win over Waterford at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.

The Midlanders were pushed hard, despite taking a 1-10 to 0-04 interval lead, and five of their six starting forwards on target in the opening 35 minutes.

A trio of Francis McGee points helped Longford to a 0-05 to 0-01 lead after eight minutes, and they pushed 1-09 to 0-02 ahead, following McGee’s 24th-minute goal.

Longford were reduced to 14 men on the restart, after Shane Doyle was dismissed, but Shane Aherne saw a second yellow card for the visitors.

Waterford bounced back with fine scores from Joey Veale, Patrick Hurney and Mark Ferncombe, with the latter registering a 66th-minute goal, but time ran out for Waterford.

There was drama at O’Connor Park, Tullamore as a last-gasp Willie Mulhall pointed free earned Offaly a 2-13 to 1-16 draw with Leitrim.

Goals from Nigel Dunne and Mulhall helped Offaly to a 2-07 to 0-05 interval lead, but the Connacht side delivered a firm response.

A Kevin Conlan penalty goal was the tonic Leitrim required, and indeed they led twice late on, before Mulhall’s injury-time point ensure a share of the spoils.

Dean Odlum failed to land a late score, as Wicklow and Carlow drew 0-09 apiece at Netwatch Dr Cullen Park.

Wicklow led by 0-04 to 0-02 at half-time, with Brian Murphy missing a penalty late in the half, after a Robert Lambert save.

Carlow worked hard in the restart with Murphy and Darragh Foley impressive as they pushed ahead.

Conor McGraynor levelled the tie, with the sides trading scores, before Séan Gannon landed a superb Carlow score.

Odlum’s late free drifted wide, as Carlow maintained their unbeaten run, and Wicklow take fifth spot.

After this round of games, it means Longford and Offaly are battling out for top spot.
