Brendan Quigley will return to the Laois football squad this season.

Quigley lined out last year as New York senior football captain following his move to the US in August 2013 in search of work.

However, the 28-year-old returned home last autumn and the Laois county board have confirmed the Timahoe club man has committed to the panel for 2015.

An injury had ruled him out of Laois’s O’Byrne Cup opening defeat to Offaly at the weekend.

Meanwhile, Carlow football has also received a boost with midfielder Brendan Murphy making himself available for the 2015 season. Murphy returns to the Carlow fold after opting out of the squad last year due to work commitments.

The Rathvilly player will be unavailable for county duty during the O’Byrne Cup campaign as he is currently studying at Carlow IT and will feature for them instead in the competition.
