Tyrone defender Conor Gormley has retired from inter-county football.

Gormley is a three-time All-Ireland and four-time Ulster champion with the Red Hands, while he also collected three All-Star awards.

The 34-year-old Carrickmore St Colmcille's clubman also won four county titles.

Meanwhile, a former team-mate of Gormley, Peter Canavan, has joined the Tyrone Under-21 backroom team. He will work as a coach under manager Fergal Logan.

Canavan quit as Fermanagh manager last year before taking charge of club side Cavan Gaels.
