Former dual player Eoin Cadogan will concentrate on football rather than hurling for Cork in 2015, the county have confirmed.
A Cork GAA statement said that Cadogan (28) had met with hurling manager Jimmy Barry-Murphy and football manager Brian Cuthbert today to inform them of his decision.
Cuthbert said: “I am delighted to have Eoin on board for 2015. Preparations are under way for the year ahead, and we look forward to returning to competitive action.”
Hurling boss Jimmy Barry-Murphy wished Cadogan well and expressed the hope that he might return to the county's hurlers in the future.
“Obviously we are disappointed to lose Eoin but we wish him well with the footballers in 2015," Barry-Murphy said. "The door is always open for his return to Cork hurling should circumstances allow.”
Cadogan has won a Munster and All-Ireland title with the footballers and one Munster title with the hurlers in his Rebels career to date.
He played a much more prominent role for the footballers last year.
Aidan Walsh, who also played football and hurling for Cork in 2014, declared last week he would only line out for the hurlers next year.
The dual-player is becoming less and common in inter-county Gaelic games, with All-Ireland winner Podge Collins of Clare recently forced to choose between codes.
