Ballinderry withstood a late rally by 14-man Kingdom Kerry Gaels at Ruislip to win 3-09 to 2-07 and qualify for an All-Ireland club SFC semi-final meeting with St Vincent's in the New Year.

The Derry champions, playing with a strong breeze in the opening half, built up a 1-5 to 0-01 interval lead, with Collie Devlin grabbing their goal after nine minutes.

Peadar Stack was sent off for the home side for a second yellow card.

Daniel McKinless raised a green flag shortly after the resumption, and when Devlin slotted home his second goal thereafter, Ballinderry looked to be in total control as they surged 3-06 to 0-04 clear.

However, Kingdom Kerry Gaels, eventually made the elements count in their favour, as the chipped away at Ballinderry lead.

Goals, courtesy of Stephen Brown and a Kyle Holland converted-penalty saw the London side reduce the deficit to 3-07 to 2-07 as the game entered the last five minutes.

Yet, the visitors held their nerve and late points from Conor Nevin and Fintan Bell saw them prevail by five points.
