Jack Sheedy has been named as the new Longford senior football manager.
The former Dublin star takes over from Glenn Ryan, who stood down in August after a five-year spell in charge.
This will be Sheedy's first time managing at inter-coounty level, but he led Moorefield to the Kildare senior county title in 2010 in his first year in charge.
The 1994 All-Star managed Edenderry in Offaly prior to Moorefield.
Longford bowed out of this year’s All-Ireland senior football championship with a Round 2 qualifier defeat to Wexford, while they lost in Leinster to Wicklow.
