Tomás Ó Flatharta is in line to be the new manager of the Laois senior footballers.
Ó Flatharta's name will be put forward for ratification later this month to replace Justin McNulty, who stepped down in August following three years in charge of the county.
Kerry native Ó Flatharta previously managed Westmeath from 2005 to 2009 after being a selector under Paidi Ó Sé when the Lake County won their only Leinster title in 2004.
He then succeeded Joe Kernan as Galway boss in 2010 but was relieved of his duties with the Tribesmen in August 2011 after they were relegated to Division 2 of the National Football League and failed to win a championship match.
Laois GAA Executive will be putting forward name of Tomas O'Flaharta to October County Comm Meeting as next Laois senior football manager
