Mick O'Dwyer and Clare got their first win in the division, while Limerick edged out Offaly.
The Banner had to come from behind to beat Leitrim 1-14 to 2-08 at Carrick-on-Shannon.
Emlyn Mulligan was a gain free-scoring as Leitrim built up a 1-05 to 0-01 lead, but late points and a David Tubridy goal for the Banner county left only a single score between the sides at the break.
The second half saw the visitors exert more control on proceedings with Tubridy, Gary Brennan and Podge McMahon kicking over fine points. A late Leitrim goal from Mulligan wasn’t enough and Clare held on for their first win of the campaign, while the Connacht side are still pointless.
Limerick had a point – 0-12 to 1-08 - to spare over Offaly in Tullamore.
The home side led 1-06 to 0-07 at the break, with Brian O’Connor getting the goal. However, the Munstermen produced a strong last quarter with Stephen Lavin, Ian Ryan and Eoghan O’Connor on the scoresheet.
The latter popped over the winning point as Murice Horan’s side remain unbeaten after two games.
