Meath and Sligo got their Allians FL Division 3 campaigns up and running with wins over Wicklow and Antrim.
Meath saw off Wicklow by 0-16 to 0-08 at Aughrim and so got last week’s trimming by Monaghan out of their system. Wicklow, on the other hand, are pointless after two games.
The Royals were always in control and led by 0-10 to 0-04 at the break and the hosts never looked like closing the gap thereafter.
Sligo held on for a 1-12 to 0-13 victory at Markievicz Park. The winners took command in the opening period after Pat Hughes found the net and held a 1-08 to 0-04 advantage at the break.
However, the Saffrons came out a transformed side and hit five points on the spin. However, they could never reel their opponents in and their cause was not helped as Kevin Niblock and Michael Magill were both sent off. Adrian Marren and Mark Breheny got vital second half points for Sligo.
Saturday's action in the division saw wins for Cavan and Fermanagh.
