John Evans has been ratified as the new manager of Roscommon at a county board meeting tonight.
Evans takes over from Des Newton, who resigned after their exit from this year's All-Ireland Football Championship.
The Rossies were humiliated by Galway in the Connacht Championship but achieved a noteable win over Armagh in the qualifiers before eventually being convincingly beaten by Tyrone in round two.
Earlier tonight Roscommon GAA unanimously ratified the appointment of John Evans as Senior Football Team Manager. See bit.ly/rosgaa

Evans, who takes the position for a two-year term, quit his role with Tipperary last March but during his tenure he took the Premier men from Division 4 to Division 2 of the Allianz Football League before dropping back to Division 3.
He also managed the county’s under-21 footballers to a first ever Munster title in 2010.
He faces a tough task in 2013 in Connacht where Roscommon will face the winners of Galway or Mayo in the semi-finals.
