A spokesperson for the GAA has confirmed to RTÉ Sport that Seanie Johnston will not be eligible to play for Kildare against Offaly on Sunday next.
According to the Association, Johnston must play in a club championship game first before he can represent the Lillywhites. The Cavan native did play a league match last weekend for his new club, St Kevin's.
It was also confirmed that the Johnston transfer will not be on the agenda at Saturday's Central Council meeting.
