Preview: London v Leitrim

Leitrim travel to Ruislip knowing a victory will see them face Mayo in the Connacht sem-final on 24 June.

The Connacht side again failed to make any impression in Allianz League Division 4 and will be mindful that Mayo nearly came a cropper in the English capital 12 months ago.

The Exiles certainly won’t fear the Leitrim challenge, despite their manager Paul Coggins playing down the chances of another upset. Full forward Eoin O’Neill did suffer an injury in a club match last week, but has been passed fit to start.

Leitrim travel over with two debutants in their starting XV. Fabian McMorrow lines out at centre back, while Paddy McGowan is named at No 10.

London started their club championship last weekend in the hope of giving their players meaningful game time. A competitive game is in prospect and Leitrim are given a slight nod to get over this hurdle. Don’t be surprised, however, to see extra time sort out the eventual outcome.
