Kieran McGeeney felt his side turned in a "decent" performance when easily accounting for Offaly in the O'Byrne Cup on Sunday.
The Lilywhites will now face Dublin in the semi-final of the pre-season tournament after their 13-pont success over a poor Faithful outfit.
Speaking to the RTÉ Sport after the game in Newbridge, McGeeney said: "It was a decent performance, particularly in the first half. We fell away a wee bit after the break when our structure fell apart, but it’s the second game of the year and I felt we did okay.
McGeeney had asked for his side to be ruthless, following on from their opening day victory over Dublin IT. He felt they did show at times against the Faithful county.
He added, "At different stages today, we showed real purpose, though I thought we should have put a lot more scores on the board. It’s an aspect of the game we will always look to improve on."
Despite the facile victory, McGeeney could still see the benefits of the Newbridge outing.
"Every game is beneficial. For some guys it was their first game of the season. You can only play what’s in front of you; we got a run on Offaly today. I can assure you that won’t happen when we meet again."
Kildare face Offaly in the Leinster SFC quarter-final on 16 June.
