Kalum King hit two first-half goals as Down eased past Monaghan in Clones in the Power NI Dr McKenna Cup.
Dan Gordan and Benny Coulter also found the net as Down won 4-12 to 0-11 in Clones.
The Mourne men led 3-06 to 0-03 at the break and were in never in danger despite a more even second period.
