Tyrone stars Brian McGuigan and Philip Jordan have retired from inter-county football.

Red Hands supremo Mickey Harte paid tribute to the departing duo, saying: “I have found both players to be great gentlemen as well as magnificent sportsmen.

“The Tyrone team will miss their energy and class on the field. They have contributed so much to Tyrone’s most successful decade ever.”

McGuigan and Jordan, both 31, won three All-Ireland SFC titles with Tyrone in 2003, 2005 and 2008.

Jordan was awarded four All Stars during his illustrious career, scooping the accolade in 2003, 2005, 2008 and 2010, while McGuigan picked up his sole All Star in 2003.
