Harry Murphy has been named as Mick O’Dwyer’s successor as manager of the Wicklow senior football side.

The appointment of the Rathnew man was confirmed on the Wicklow GAA website on Monday evening and Murphy is set to be joined by Kiltegan’s Gavin Wynne and Mick Murray from Bray as selectors.

Murphy won the Leinster Club Championship in 2001 with Rathnew and also led the Wicklow side to seven senior football county titles during his 11-year tenure, including an impressive four in a row from 2000-2003.
