Donegal v Laois, Croke Park, 2.00pm on Sunday
The Division 2 final is like the icing on the cake for the sides who qualify for it.
Having already earned promotion to the top flight for 2012, the trophy will be little more than an added bonus for either Donegal or Laois.
The problem for them is that their minds will now have inevitably turned towards the Championship, particularly as they are involved in the two most competitive provinces.
There is also the possibility of familiarity breeding contempt, as these two sides faced each other a fortnight ago in a game which Laois won to secure their elevation alongside the Tir Conaill men.
They both finished level on points with Derry, but progressed on the basis of a better points difference than the Foylesiders.
Donegal boss Jim McGuinness has problem with injuries, as there are doubts over no less than seven of his players. He is hopeful, however, that star forward Michael Murphy will recover from a dead leg to lead the side out at HQ on Sunday.
Two-time All Star Karl Lacey said he was taken aback by the physicality of Laois in their recent encounter. It was pretty inevitable that the 2003 Leinster champions would go that way under Justin McNulty, who was a member of the All-Ireland wining Armagh side who, along with Tyrone, rewrote the manual when it comes to inter-county football.
Laois forwards MJ Tierney is now playing his club football with Parnells in Dublin, but his switch to the capital has had little effect on his free-taking as his struck 1-10 against Donegal in their last encounter.
The O’Moore men have come in a little under the radar, but any side who travels to Derry and comes away with a 14-point win has to be taken seriously.
Verdict: Laois
