The new Mayo football manager is expected to be named next week after the county board interviews the four candidates shortlisted for the post.
John Maughan, James Horan, Tommy Lyons and Anthony McGarry are the quartet in question and they will be interviewed by a selection committee before a name is put forward for ratification by clubs in Mayo.
The vacancy came about after John O'Mahony stepped down following Mayo's defeat to Longford in the All-Ireland qualifiers on 26 June.
In other football management news, Mayo native Maurice Horan is expected to be named as Limerick senior football manager tonight. Horan managed the Treaty U-21 side this year and was part of Mickey 'Ned' O'Sullivan's backroom team.
