Mike McCarthy is an injury doubt for Kerry ahead of their GAA Munster Senior Football Championship semi-final clash with Cork on Sunday.

It has reported that McCarthy missed Monday night’s training session with an Achilles tendon problem.

McCarthy’s return to the Kerry Championship panel was seen as vital to their eventual All-Ireland success last year.

He was again an absentee for Kerry’s League campaign this season having first retired from inter-county football aged 27 after the Kingdom's 2006 All-Ireland triumph.

He returned to the Kerry panel a month ago ahead of this year's Championship.
