Dublin's final tie to their 1995 All-Ireland winning team looks set to be cut with reports that Jason Sherlock will be left out of Pat Gilroy's panel for the Championship.
Sherlock did not feature in the Dubs league campaign and now looks to be surplus to requirements as Gilroy is ready to name a youthful squad ahead of his side's Leinster quarter-final against Wexford on 13 June.
The veteran attacker has not been a part of the Dublin training squad and unless injuries require it, will not be called up.
Gilroy has already signalled his intention to make changes to make-up of the Dublin squad and Sherlock's Oliver Plunketts clubmate Bernard Brogan revealed that the manager is not afraid to make changes.
'(Gilroy) has no qualms about leaving out even the experienced lads,' Brogan told the Irish Times.
'Conal Keaney and Alan (Brogan) didn't play that much over the league. If lads are playing well he'll play them, and that stands as well for any of the young lads, when a manager plays you on form, not experience. That's the mentality Pat started with this year, and I’m sure he'll continue that.
'No one can be rest assured about their place. I think it's going to add a lot of competition to the training, and the panel, that places are up for grabs. Hopefully that will stand to us as a team.'
