An extra-time classic saw Castlegregory come from behind to win the All-Ireland Junior Football Championship title at Croke Park.

The Kerry champions needed a late goal from Colm O’Mahony to send the game to added time.

Kitimagh had early scores from Ronan Malee and Ciaran Charlton, before centre back Stephen Browne hit Castlegregory’s opening score, and Shane Hennessy added a free.

Late in the first half, Alan Lynch and Noel Lydon traded points, sending Kiltimagh in at the break with a 0-06 to 0-04 advantage

Kiltimagh looked set for victory, but O’Mahony flicked Hennessy’s free to the net on 60 minutes, and the Mayo men needed a Charlton leveller four minutes into stoppage time.

Colm O’Mahony eased Castlegregroy ahead by 1-12 to 0-13 midway through added time, and Castlegregory sealed it with scores from Paul Regan and Alan Lynch, despite Charlton’s seven points haul for the Mayo champions.
