Mayo footballers James Nallen and David Heaney have both announced their retirement from inter-county football.
35 year-old Nallen, a two-time All Star, made a record 132 appearances for the red and green, and told manager John O'Mahony of his decision in the last couple of days.
The Crossmolina native, who lined out for the county in five All-Ireland finals, including the 1996 replay against Meath, made his last senior appearance in a Mayo jersey as a substitute against New York at Gaelic Park in the 2009 Connacht SFC.
32-year old Heaney, who has won five Connacht championship medals, will also not be returning to the county fold.
Both players are transferring to play club football with Claregalway.
