John Miskella has revealed that Cork have so far reached all the targets they set at the start of the year, although their main aim has yet to be realised.

Cork lost heavily to Kerry in the 2007 final and wing back Miskella has revealed his disappointment at the nature of that defeat.

‘Thinking back now it’s a bit of a blur. I didnt enjoy it and I don’t want to go through that again,’ he told the GAA.ie.

‘We didn’t perform on the day and in fairness to Kerry they played well, got the goals at the right times and killed the game off. In fairness you have to hand it to them, they are a serious side.

‘This is their sixth all Ireland in a row, they know what they are doing and we just hope to get to that level.’

Miskelly, aiming to win his first Celtic cross after two final heartbreaks went on: ‘I suppose we targeted certain things this year. We targeted the league and won that. We looked at the Munster championship and won that and then the All Ireland. We still have 70 minutes but that’s the way we’ve been thinking.

‘This year has been very enjoyable but I’d like to think that the highlight hasn’t come yet. There’s only one highlight.’
