Carlow's Murphy rejects AFL failure tag

Brendan Murphy has rejected any accusations that he was a failure in the Australian Football League.

The Carlow footballer has returned home after two injury-plagued campaigns with the Sydney Swans after rejecting the offer of a new contract.

He told the Carlow Nationalist: ‘Some people will say I didn’t make or couldn’t make it and that’s why I returned home but I know that’s not the truth and the people who mean the most to me know as well so that’s all that counts.’

Carlow manager Luke Dempsey will certainly be looking to figure Dempsey into his plans for the 2010 Al-Ireland Championship.
