Tommy Carr will remain with Cavan as manager for another year, quashing speculation that the former Dublin player was set to leave his post.
According to the Irish Times, Carr made his choice after four days of mulling over his future.
Carr told RTÉ’s Sunday Sport programme yesterday that he was hopeful of resolving his future soon after narrowly winning a vote of confidence during the week.
Carr said prior to committing to the county: ‘It is up to ourselves now to make a decision and we’ll be doing that over the next day or two. We don’t want to drag it on.
'We were delighted to get the vote of confidence and to take charge of any county team is a massive privilege. We have to take in that regard.’
