Colm Coss will make his first championship start when he lines out at full forward for Laois in Saturday's All-Ireland football qualifier against Down in Newry.
The Mountmellick player was only added to the senior squad after the NFL campaign, and now spearheads a new-look full forward line which also features Michael John Tierney and Peter O'Leary.
Coss retains his place after replacing Donie Kingston during the second half of the Kildare game.
The Portlaoise duo of Aidan Fennelly and Craig Rogers have also been recalled to a side at the expense of of Darren Rooney and team captain Brian 'Bruno' McCormack.
Other changes see Niall Donoher come into the half back line in place of Ger Reddin, with Johnny O'Loughlin switching from wing back to the centre. Billy Sheehan makes way for Peter O'Leary in an attack which now features Ross Munnelly at wing forward.
