All-Ireland champions Tyrone knocked defending champions Armagh out of this year's Ulster Championship in a match played in a great sporting spirit throughout.
A classic goal from Stephen O'Neill meant a dominant Tyrone went in at the break leading 1-05 to 0-03.
Armagh could feel relieved that they were not further behind as Tyrone missed several scoring chances and Paul Hearty had to come to Armagh's rescue on several occasions throughout the half.
Tyrone continued as they left off early in the second half and looked to have put the game beyond doubt when centre-back Conor Gormley stormed forward in the 40th minute to goal and give Tyrone an eight-point lead.
But back came Armagh, spearheaded by a fantastic strike from Ronan Clarke after 50 minutes, and with 14 minutes left there was only two points between the sides in the sweltering Clones heat.
But that was as close as Armagh could get and the sides swapped points from there to the finish as Tyrone held on to win by three points.
The Red Hands were reduced to 14 men minutes before the end, however, as Gormley paid the price for picking up two yellow cards.
