A possible show of ‘player power’ could be about to rock Offaly football.
A number of the county’s senior footballers held talks with manager Richie Connor amid reports that some members of the panel were contemplating withdrawing their services in protest at his appointment.
Up to ten players did not attend and could now be ready to end their inter-county careers as long as Connor remains at the helm.
Connor, who was appointed to the post last September following the departure of Pat Roe, captained Offaly to win the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship final in 1982.
