Nickey Joyce and Cormac Bane were the power-brokers as Galway secured a comfortable four-point win over Leitrim in the FBD League at Ballinasloe.
The reigning champions were well matched by Leitrim in the early
stages, but with Joyce kicking six first half points, the Tribesmen
took a 0-09 to 0-03 half-time lead.
The introduction of Emlyn Mulligan saw Leitrim fight back on the
restart but with Joyce, Bane and Jonathan Ryan on target for Galway in the second half, the Tribesmen held firm for the victory.
