Declan Bonner and Charlie Mulgrew have lost their case at the DRA against the Donegal County Board.
The pair had contested that the procedure which led to the installing of John Joe Doherty as football manager in the county was flawed.
Bonner and Mulgrew had been offered the post as a joint appointment after Doherty had rejected an initial approach and were set to be ratified as joint managers of the Donegal footballers at a county board meeting.
However, Doherty spoke at that meeting before the appointment was rubber-stamped and revealed that he was interested in taking the role. He was later offered the job for a second time, which he accepted.
The duo's case was heard last month but had taken 13 days of deliberation for the DRA to reach a verdict.
