Two more years for Cork managers

Cork will have the same football and hurling managers in place for next year.

Gerald McCarthy was unanimously ratified as Cork hurling manager for the next two years at a county board meeting.

Cork football manager Conor Counihan will also remain on for the next two years.

Elsewhere, the GAA has sought a meeting with the Minster for Education, Batt O'Keefffe, to discuss the education cutbacks announced in last week's Budget.

The association said it was concerned that the measures would curtail the development of Gaelic Games in second level schools and negatively impact on the playing of GAA post-primary school competitions.
