Richie Connor of Walsh Island, who captained Offaly to win the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship final in 1982, has been appointed Offaly senior football manager.
His appointment was ratified at a meeting of the Offaly GAA County Board in Tullamore on Thursday night.
Ollie Daly of Ballycumber and Mark Plunkett of Tullamore will act as selectors.
They have been appointed for a three-year term, with a review at the end of the second year.
In addition to captaining Offaly to All-Ireland success, Connor won Leinster Senior Football Championship medals in 1980, 1981 and 1982 and was awarded an All Star in 1981.
He won six consecutive Offaly Senior Football Championship titles with Walsh Island between 1978 and 1983.
A former manager of the Laois senior footballers, he is currently the manager of the Walsh Island team which has reached the Offaly Intermediate Football Championship final.
