Armagh stormed to a deserved victory over a previously undefeated Dublin side in this re-fixed clash at Crossmaglen.
The Orchard men put in their best performance of the season to confirm their Division 2 status and relegate Cavan in the process.
Bernard Brogan grabbed a third-minute goal for Dublin but points from Stephen Kernan, Paddy McKeever, Ronan Clarke, Stephen McDonnell and Tony Kernan had the hosts 0-08 to 1-03 ahead at half-time.
Armagh powered clear thanks to second half goals from Charlie Vernon, McDonnell and Clarke, while Dublin's afternoon ended on a sour note when Alan Brogan was dismissed.
The Dubs welcomed back goalkeeper Stephen Cluxton and corner-back David Henry into their defence, while, in a late switch, Derek Murray was drafted in for Stephen O'Shaughnessy at left corner-back.
Armagh made two changes with Paul Kernan, one of four Kernan brothers in the side, and Charlie Vernon promoted to the starting line-up.
In front of almost 10,000 spectators, these sides offered a game of Championship intensity that was played in brilliant sunshine and there was certainly no fear of rain stopping this heavyweight encounter from going ahead.
A fortnight previously both teams travelled to the venue in vain as referee Derek Fahy deemed that the pitch was unplayable and again Fahy played a central role in the re-fixed tie – dismissing Alan Brogan with eight minutes remaining.
The St Oliver Plunkett's clubman had only been on the pitch for 12 minutes, after being introduced midway through the second half for Jason Sherlock.
Dublin began the game at a brilliant pace and led by 1-01 to 0-01 after just three minutes thanks to a Bernard Brogan goal, following a well-placed pass from Jason Sherlock.
However, industrious play of Stephen McDonnell, Paddy McKeever and Ronan Clarke ensured Armagh were level by the 12th-minute.
The sides were level on two further occasions during the opening 35 minutes, before Armagh pulled away before the break thanks to a flourish of points from Tony Kernan and Clarke.
The introduction of Ciaran Whelan to the Dublin midfield promised much for the second half and Paul Caffrey's charges certainly performed well over the course of the third quarter.
The gap was cut to a point, 11 minutes in, following good work from Bernard Brogan and Sherlock but a 50th-minute goal from Charlie Vernon sent the large crowd into raptures.
Vernon's strike arrived after a great inter-passing movement with full-forward Clarke.
The Armagh Harps clubman, who replaced Kieran Toner at midfield before the throw-in, linked up with Clarke before crashing the ball past Cluxton.
Dublin failed to wilt as two Conal Kearney frees kept them in contention, however Armagh were by far the better side over the final quarter as goals from McDonnell and Clarke sealed the issue.
Tempers flared late on, however, with Brogan receiving his marching orders.
But, overall, referee Fahy kept a tight control on the game and allowed for some excellent free-flowing football to be produced.
