The NFL Division 2 tie between Dublin and Monaghan, which was scheduled to take place tonight at Parnell Park, had to be postponed due to an unplayable pitch.

Rain had been falling heavily on Dublin's northside for most of the day and it left its mark on the Donnycarney venue.

Wexford referee Syl Doyle called the game off just 90 minutes before the throw-in, leaving many of the supporters who had travelled from the north and elsewhere feeling disgruntled.

There is a possibility that the game could be re-fixed for Tuesday night but no decision has been made as of yet.
