Coman Goggins, who captained Dublin to the 2002 Leinster SFC title, has announced his retirement from inter-county football.
The experienced defender has struggled to gain a starting spot in the Dublin team in recent seasons and his final appearance for the Dubs came as a substitute in last June's Leinster semi-final win over Offaly.
Goggins had the distinction of being the first player from the Ballinteer St John's club to line out for Dublin at senior level.
Having made his championship debut against Wexford in 2000, the following year saw him stand out in the Dubs' defence - he was the only player from the capital to win an All Star in 2001.
2002 saw him captain Dublin to their first Delaney Cup success in seven years and three more Leinster titles followed for the some-time TG4 analyst, as well as a stint in the Ireland International Rules team.
