The Gaelic Players Association has unveiled the Opel Gaelic Team of the Year for Football for 2007.

The team reflects the most successful counties in this year’s championship, with 15 players hailing from seven different counties; Kerry, Dublin, Cork, Meath, Tyrone, Derry and Monaghan.

GPA chief executive Dessie Farrell was keen to acknowledge the contribution of the award winners.

'Players’ player awards will always have a special place in the hearts of footballers and hurlers so I would like to congratulate the 15 winners who were chosen from the 45 nominees by their fellow players,' Farrell said.

'Of course no player can be singled out without the assistance of his team-mates and fellow panellists who also deserve special mention, as do all the participants in the 2007 football championship.'

1 Stephen Cluxton (Dublin)
