Cork football manager Billy Morgan had his appeal against a 24-week suspension upheld last night by the Central Appeals Committee.

The appeal was upheld on the basis that the Central Hearing’s Committee did not quote the appropriate rule.

His suspension has now been cut to eight weeks, effective from 4 October.

The original suspension arose out of an incident in the All-Ireland football final between Cork and Kerry.
