Cork manager Billy Morgan has been suspended for 24 weeks following a meeting of the Central Hearing's Committee in Croke Park last night.
The length of ban was proposed by the Central Competitions Control Committee and arose out of an incident in the Bank of Ireland All-Ireland Football final between Cork and Kerry on 16 September.
It is thought Morgan verball abused a linesman during half-time and was cited for a 'Category IV' infraction under the GAA's Official 1 Rules.
The linesman reported the matter to match referee David Coldrick, who included the incident in his match report.
The rule covers threatening or abusive conduct towards or threatening language aimed at match officials, and all infractions in this category carry a ban of between 12 and 24 weeks.
Morgan can still appeal to the Central Appeals Committee.
