Dublin board to decide on Caffrey

Paul Caffrey's future may be decided next Monday

The Dublin County Board is to meet next Monday evening to discuss the management of the county's senior football team.

The term of Paul Caffrey and his selectors ended after Sunday's defeat to Kerry in the All-Ireland semi-final and it's still unclear whether they will be given another chance to bring Sam Maguire back to the capital.

Sources close to the manager and his selectors indicate that they are keen to have at least one more year in charge.

The Dublin playing staff appear to be behind Caffrey and forward Alan Brogan claimed he should be given another chance. 'I don’t think the manager's job is finished until he delivers the All-Ireland for his team,' he said.

'I'm hopeful that the county board will extend Paul's contract, or whatever they have to do.'
