Donegal are waiting on an Ulster Council meeting later this week to ascertain if midfielder Kevin Cassidy will be eligible to play in Sunday's Allianz NFL Division One final.
Cassidy was sent-off against Kildare in Croke Park on Sunday, and as it is a repeat offence, he faces a possible two-week ban.
Donegal will appeal a yellow card picked up by Cassidy against Armagh in a McKenna Cup match on 28 January at tonight's meeting.
The grounds for the appeal are that one of the cards shown to Cassidy in the McKenna Cup match in question was purely a case of mistaken identity.
Should the appeal be successful, the booking will be over-turned and the Gweedore man would be eligible to take his place in the Donegal line-up against Mayo on Sunday.
