Monaghan maintained their 100% record in Division 2A this afternoon with a comprehensive 0-19 to 0-06 defeat of Clare at Cusack Park.

Tommy Freeman kicked eight points - five from placed balls - as the Farney men won for the fourth time to continue their impressive form.

Frank O'Dea and Rory Donnelly led the Clare attack but with Damien Freeman, Eoin Lennon, Dessie Mone and Tom Finlay all on the scoresheet for the visitors, the result was never in doubt. Monaghan had led 0-09 to 0-04 at the break.

Goals from Karol Mannion and David Hoey helped third-placed Roscommon record their third win of the league campaign - they ran out 2-9 to 1-10 away to Carlow. JJ Smith nabbed the hosts' only goal at Dr Cullen Park.

Luke Dempsey's Longford side had to dig deep to beat Leitrim 1-14 to 0-10 at Pearse Park this afternoon.

Longford are up to second in the standings having been awarded the two points from their draw against Offaly after their appeal against Ken Casey's eligibility.

Leitrim managed to move 0-06 to 0-01 ahead before Longford reeled them in and a second half goal from Brian Kavanagh sealed the victory.

Bottom side London proved no match for a powerful Offaly side as the Faithfuls secured a comfortable 2-17 to 1-09 win in Tullamore today.

Niall Fenton hit two early points for the Exiles, but Offaly's firepower was just too much to handle, with Niall McNamee (0-04), Thomas Deehan and John Reynolds (0-02 each) easing the hosts to a 0-10 to 0-04 half-time lead.

McNamee's goal, early in the second half, left the result in little doubt, with PJ Ward grabbing Offaly's second major. David O'Brien netted for London.

Longford 1-14 Leitrim 0-10, Pearse Park
Clare 0-6 Monaghan 0-19, Cusack Park
