The GAA's Competition Control Committee today upheld an objection by Longford against Offaly for playing Ken Casey in their Allianz National Football League game last month.
Casey was under suspension at the time of the clash.
The game ended in a draw but both points have now been awarded to Longford.
Casey was sent off after receiving two yellow cards in a Leinster U-21 Championship match by Meath referee Joey Curley two weeks ago, and was also reported for verbally abusing the referee.
He received a four-week suspension dating from 18 February, but Offaly clearly felt that he was eligible to play in the league match last Sunday as it was a different competition.
Both sides have made a mixed start to their campaign and lie behind Monaghan who are unbeaten at the top of the table.
