The footballers of Dublin and Tyrone are likely to face off in the first match to be played under floodlights at Croke Park.

The GAA has today released the provisional fixture list for next season's Allianz football and hurling leagues and the move towards Saturday evening football is gathering momentum.

With Ireland due to play France under lights at Croke Park in the Six Nations Rugby Championship on Sunday 11 February, the Dubs have been scheduled to take on Tyrone at 7.30pm on February 3 with Croke Park the probable venue.

That encounter will be one of three Saturday evening games on the opening weekend of the football League and more than twenty are scheduled altogether including up to six on selected weekends.
