Down footballer Martin Clarke, who returned home from Australia last night, has yet to decide whether to accept an offer of a professional contract from Australian Football side Collingwood.

Martin, who had a five-week trial in Australia, has confirmed that he was offered a professional deal by the AFL side and was very impressed with the club, however he needs time to consider the contract and will be talking over the offer with family and friends over the coming months.

Clarkes’s only concern at present is to get back playing football for his club An Riocht.

An Riocht open their Championship campaign next Friday evening against East Down side Bryansford.
