The GAA have confirmed that the Bank of Ireland All-Ireland SFC quarter-final between Dublin and Westmeath on 12 August will have a 4pm throw-in.

It will be preceded by the Nicky Rackard Cup final between Donegal and Derry which will get underway at 2pm.

The GAA had received a request from An Garda Síochána to move the main game forward to 2pm on safety grounds.

Dublin are many people's favourites for this year's Championship, but Westmeath go into the game on a high after eliminating Galway at Pearse Park in Salthill last Saturday.

The Metropolitans will be looking for revenge for their historic 2004 Leinster SFC defeat to a Páidí Ó Sé-managed Westmeath.

It was the first time a Westmeath team had tumbled Dublin in the Championship.
