The GAA have confirmed that the Central Disciplinary Committee has imposed a 12-week ban on Wexford's Matty Forde as a result of an incident in the Offaly v Wexford Bank of Ireland Leinster SFC game in Croke Park on 2 July.
The penalty applies from the date of his last game.
The suspension was imposed at a meeting of the CDC this morning which the player chose not to attend as he was travelling to Enniskillen.
Matty Forde is not eligible to participate in today's Bank of Ireland SFC 3rd Round qualifier game against Fermanagh.
Meanwhile, Cork defender Anthony Lynch has successfully appealed the red card he received against Kerry in the drawn Munster SFC final.
Lynch's successful appeal means he is now free to play in the replay tomorrow.
